A Look at the Biggest MAZDA SUVs

Are you the head of a large or growing family? Do you work a job or have a hobby that requires lots of gear? Whether you’re one, the other, or both, you need a big vehicle to suit your needs. More specifically, you need the largest Mazda SUV, which is the Mazda CX-90. MAZDA CX-90 

As the largest Mazda SUV, the Mazda CX-90 relies on a turbocharged 3.3-liter straight-six engine that’s available in two states of tune for power. In non-S models, the engine produces 280 horsepower and 332 lb-ft of torque with regular gas. Total system output for S-branded SUVs comes in at 340 horsepower and 369 lb-ft of torque with premium fuel. 

The Mazda CX-90 is a midsize SUV that can accommodate up to eight adult passengers across three rows. Given the strength of its engine, it won’t surprise you that the Mazda CX-90 can haul a lot of gear and groceries.  

Behind its third row, the Mazda CX-90 has 15.9 cubic feet of cargo space. Folding the third row expands the cargo area to 40.1 cubic feet, and the SUV’s cargo room increases to 75.2 cubic feet with both rear rows folded. With the right equipment, the Mazda CX-90 can tow up to 5,000 lbs. 

MAZDA CX-90 PHEV 

As you look through the new Mazda SUVs in our showroom, you’ll notice the Mazda CX-90 PHEV is similarly sized to its gas-only counterpart. This SUV is a plug-in hybrid electric vehicle that can travel up to 26 miles using electricity alone when it’s fully charged.  

While the Mazda CX-90 PHEV can also accommodate up to eight passengers, the three-row PHEV has slightly less cargo room than its stablemate. The SUV’s maximum cargo capacity is 74.2 cubic feet. 

Compact SUV Options 

If you’d like an equally versatile but smaller SUV, the Mazda CX-5 and Mazda CX-50 will appeal to you. While the former SUV looks similar to the Mazda CX-50, it’s actually a tad smaller in stature; still, both of these vehicles can accommodate five passengers across two rows. The Mazda CX-5 has a maximum cargo capacity of 59.3 cubic feet while the Mazda CX-50 can transport up to 56.3 cubic feet of cargo.
